From the sunscreen that you choose to the cruise company you opt to book with, your actions as a traveler have a huge impact on our oceans.
This World Oceans Day, join Impact Travel Accra for an engaging panel discussion highlighting how travelers can make a difference for ocean conservation.
Between rising temperatures, ocean acidification, and single-use plastics filling our seas, we are taking a toll on our oceans, not only affecting marine life but also degrading human health. As a major consumer of single-use plastics, contributor to ocean pollution, and yet advocate for marine conservation, we believe the tourism industry must stand up for our oceans.
Our event in Accra is part of a multi-chapter event series hosted by Impact Travel Alliance, a global community and nonprofit aimed at educating travelers how to spend their money mindfully so that they have a positive impact on a destination. ITA is celebrating World Oceans Day with events in Accra, Los Angeles, London and New York City designed to discuss how we can tackle issues of ocean conservation as travelers.
