Peace Boat visits Malta to celebrate World Oceans Day

To celebrate World Oceans Day, Peace Boat will start the third edition of the Ocean and Climate Youth Ambassadors Programme in Malta on May 24. The group of youth from the Pacific Ocean, the Indian Ocean, and the Caribbean will board the ship in Valletta. The youth will visit the University of Malta to meet students and professors for an interactive session covering various aspects of climate and ocean governance best practice. They will focus on ocean and climate literacy, marine litter, climate ocean nexus, awareness building among children and the youth. After the activities at the university campus, they will visit some parts of Malta’s capital, a country which organized the Our Ocean Conference in 2017 before students visit Peace Boat’s ship. The Peace Boat delegation will meet the President and Head of State, H.E. Mr. George Vella, at the Palace of Valetta.

Chesapeake Bay Research and Management: Progress and Future Challenges

The Chesapeake Research Consortium / Chesapeake Community Modeling Program (CCMP) seeks to improve observational and modeling tools specific to the Chesapeake Bay and its surrounding environment by fostering collaborative, open source research. The purpose of the seventh biennial Chesapeake Community Research Symposium is to identify and showcase existing observational and modeling research efforts and decision support tools using data.
