How do I register an event?

Fill out our Registration Form.

What should I put in my description?

Please include a brief overview of your event to describe the focus and intended audience if relevant.

What if my event is virtual?

In the event registration form there is a field to indicate location and you can choose “virtual”.

What if my event is not during World Oceans Week?

The United Nations World Oceans Day website can be used year-round! Please feel free to register any ocean-related events throughout the year.

Where will my event be featured?

All approved registered events will be featured on the calendar.

Are there any criteria for an event to be featured?

Submissions should be complete, relate to the ocean or ocean affairs, not have a commercial motive and not violate United Nations values.

Why do I not see my event in the calendar?

All submissions are subject to approval and may take up to a week to be processed.

How do I edit my event?

For revisions of, or edits to your approved event, please email doalos@un.org. If you would like to make more than one revision or edit, please completely resubmit your event using the registration form.

How do I add a resource?

Fill out our Registration Form.

Who can add a resource?

Anyone is welcome to contribute a resource to the United Nations World Oceans Day site! They will be screened by our team for any incomplete or inappropriate submissions.

Where will the resource be featured?

Resources will be featured on the Education page of the United Nations World Oceans Day website and filed according to type (resource / story / video) as well as category.

What do the categories signify?

The categories help sort the education materials for guests to the site depending on what people are looking for. Please select the categories you feel best suit the material you are sharing, you can select multiple.

Why do I not see my content on the website?
