World Oceans Day is June 8, a time set "aside to raise global awareness of the benefits humankind derives from the ocean and our individual and collective duty to use its resources sustainably," as noted by the UNEP. Join Seven Clean Seas with our panel of experts from a diverse range of backgrounds in plastic pollution and the plastic industry as we explore the issue at hand and how to tackle the problem systemically, identifying crucial pain points within the economy of plastics.
According to The Ocean Conservancy, 8m tonnes of plastic is entering the ocean every year. The impact on the ocean is well publicised, and encouraging steps are being taken to eliminate plastic waste and pollution. The future of plastics in the ocean will be determined by the way plastics are managed on land – the problem must be addressed throughout the supply chain, and end to end solutions found.
